Facing the sunrise with five magically wooded acres, The Madrona Bluff House is the best of the northwest where the forest meets the sea. Located in a very quiet neighborhood, you might see eagles or seals more than you see other people. The moment you pull in and come down the long wooded driveway, you will feel inspired. Right in the front yard you will find stairs down to the private beach which is a rocky northwest beach with barnacles, driftwood, and the occasional harbor seal or migrating whale. Enjoy short walking trails through towering evergreens and incredible madrona trees. Inside you are greeted with breath taking views of the harbor from the open concept living room. Enjoy the wood-burning fireplace with complimentary firewood, a pool table, and a library of books beside the dining space for eight. Eclectic mid-century and vintage touches warm up this cozy space for you to relax, connect and enjoy the moments. Restful spaces include four bedrooms and a studio with a pullout sofa. Three bedrooms have desk workspaces and all bedrooms have room darkening shades. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to make and serve meals for your friends and family or for a quiet meal for two. Nearby, the den has a wood stove, cozy couches, a shelf full of games, and an HD tv for movie nights. The spacious deck overlooks a lawn and expansive views of Holmes Harbor with clear day views of Mount Rainier on the south end and Mount Baker towards the mouth of the harbor. On calm days the harbor water can be easily mistaken for a serene lake. Seasonally available dining table and deck furniture. There is an outdoor ping pong table that can be set up on the deck or in the yard in the summer. The lawn is not watered to conserve water and prevent bank slope erosion. Because of this, the lawn does dry up and yellow around mid July depending on rainfall and greens back up late September. The house does not have ac, but temperatures are generally cooler on the island and the house has a fan for each of the rooms. We ask that dogs remain on leash when outside because of the drop-offs on the bluff.
Other Details to Note
The home has a three dog max and a pet fee per pet. Please enter your dogs along with your guest count when booking. The property has a 55 foot bluff down to the beach that is about 200 feet in front of the house. It is buffered by about 10-15' of vegetation that we let grow about knee high to discourage getting too close, but there is no guard rail or fence. The house also has 2 wood fireplaces with no child gates.

Accessibility and Availability
Neighborhood
The quiet neighborhood is slow and peaceful. There are walking trails on the property in the woods behind the house and the road is a pleasant stroll without much traffic. Restaurants and stores on the south end of island close earlier than you might expect so plan ahead.
Guest Access
Guests will have the entire house and property to themselves. The stairs to the beach are shared with one neighbor to the north and are located at the property line between both properties.
